Colombia San Agustin "For several years now we have an exclusive relationship with Exportador de Cafe Condor, one of the leading exporters of high quality COLOMBIAN coffees. We have always been pleased to offer their finest coffee, SAN AGUSTIN, from the little town of Pitalito, in the Huila region in the deep south of Colombia, between two mountain ranges. Not only do we pay a substantial premium based on the quality of this coffee, but transportation is expensive because of the (lack of) quality roads, the distance, and not least, the probability that at least one container per year will be hijacked! Regardless, the cup is worth the price, and we are delighted that the latest container is just in". "The key element to quality is the sourcing of these coffee beans from 3 estates in the Huila region. The farms are carefully selected from areas that have the following geographical and microclimatic advantages: 1. Generous spring water supply 2. Rich volcanic soil 3. Cool temperatures and high altitude 4. Adequate shade, rainfall and sunlight All of the coffee is purchased directly from these farmers at premiums over prevailing market prices in order to guarantee a higher income for the family, thus creating a long term commitment with the company.
